An impressive example of Grampians Shiraz, beautifully structured with excellent fruit flavours.

The Halls Gap vineyard in the Grampians has a long and revered history dating back to the 1960's. A long time grower for Seppelts and Penfolds, the vineyard was in the hands of the late Trevor Mast for many years, and in 2014 was acquired by Aaron Drummond. With a focus on Cabernet, Riesling and Shiraz, the single vineyard wines of Halls Gap Estate are labelled “Fallen Giants” as a reference to the dreamtime stories about the creation of the mountains.

This wine has classic Grampians Shiraz flavours. Black fruits balanced with chocolate and plum undertones, a strongly structured palate with dark cherry, blackberry compote, eucalyptus, sage and earthy notes. Spices, cracked pepper and liquorice. Rich, with very soft tannins, incredibly well articulated with a lot of style and subtlety.
